METALIKA Metal Cluster coordinator (MP Polskie Klastry Sp. z o.o.), Agencja Użytkowania i Poszanowania Energii Sp. z o.o. and TÜV SÜD Polska Sp. z o.o. organized the conference „Energy efficiency management in MMA SMEs – Energy MONITORING SYSTEMS (EMS / SCADA) and Energy Management (ISO 50001)”. It took place on November 14, 2017 in Poznań.

In the first part of the conference was presented the significance of energy efficiency in the sector of small and medium-sized metal and machinery industry (MMA), as well as potential for energy savings in SMEs of the metal and machinery industry (presentation of a summary report on energy audits). This part was completed with a ceremonial presentation of individual reports for enterprises participating in the EE-METAL project.

The second part covers the presentations on the subject:

• ISO 50001 energy management standard in the practice of SMEs
• Cooperation between SMEs and the certifying institution – examples of benefits
• The importance of EMS / SCADA energy monitoring systems
• Good practices in the use of EMS / SCADA systems in SMEs

The conference was a good opportunity to discuss the benefits and challenges of using energy-saving solutions in MMA SMEs.
